After the success of my landscape images created using blocks of bold colours I decided to turn my hand at creating some portraits in the same style. I draw the main details of the images by hand on the computer before sectioning them off and adding bold colour schemes. Here’s what I have done so far…
I was asked to paint this mural of GTAV for a boys bedroom in Hartlepool, it took 2 days in total to complete as well as a custom lampshade and wall clock.
Here is a collection of new images that I have been working on since the start of 2014 – Both are now available to buy on my shop
This collection of digital artwork is based on the motherboards of old games consoles. They were made by recreating a section of the motherboard and repeating the shape, adding colour and overlapping the shapes. The result is a collection of simplistic but strong designs that act almost as optical illusions.
I have recently had the pleasure of creating two music videos for some local bands Serinette and John and The Ragmen. Both videos were filmed in my studio and are very contrasting in styles – Enjoy!
Some behind the scenes photos from the filming of Russia by Serinette.
So… My good friends and members of the awesome band ‘John and The Ragmen‘ wanted to shoot a music video… I created a ‘stage’ for them in my studio using recycled and found objects which I painted and splatted and generally had fun creating. On the 2nd November filming began… Here are some ‘behind the scenes’ photos from the video.
I was asked by the owner of Just Blinds to paint a mural on the side of his shop located on York Rd in Hartlepool. This was a great opportunity for me to produce a piece of street art in a location that is seen by hundreds of people every day. It was agreed that I could paint a version of my Lost Youth image which is one of my most popular pieces of art. The mural took around 4/5 hrs and I was very happy with the way it turned out.
As part of the Church Square presents… Street Revolution event – Hartlepool Art Gallery is hosting an exciting exhibition, showcasing works from local, regional, national and international Artists. My Company, NEUA, provided a lot of work for this exhibition with new pieces by some of NEUA’s artists (Karl Striker, Sam Wood, Oltad, Miss Dev and TEOS). I was also given the opportunity to have my work on display including three installation pieces and 1 large artwork ’32′ which is an alternative self portrait showing my life and inspirations. The exhibition includes work by Banksy, Urban photography, interpretation of Freud’s ” Head of a woman” by New York artists Logan Hicks, and works by global artists supplied by Unit44 – including work by Faile, Kid Acne, Herakut, Hush and Invader. The launch party for the event was held at 7pm on the 6th of September, and despite the horrific weather the exhibitions launch was a great success with lots of people showing up to see the work on display. The exhibition is open to the public from the 7th Sept and runs until the 9th November.
On the 1st August at around 1:20pm Sky Sports News broadcast live from Middlesbrough Football Club while they interviewed Boro’s manager Tony Mowbray. The backdrop for the interview saw a few of my murals appear on the broadcast. Here are some photos I took before and during the broadcast.
